About the Job
We are currently looking to bring onboard an Application Management Lead. Your role will manage the IT applications portfolio (business and online) across the Rest landscape including applications services governance, lifecycle management, capacity and availability management.
Managing a team of four, you will report into the Head of IT Maintenance and Support, working as an integral part of their leadership team. This role has a focus on continuous improvement across the application portfolio as well as strategic goals and initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Governance of applications services across the portfolio
  • Development and maintenance of a comprehensive and forward looking (3 years plus) applications lifecycle management plan
  • Review of applications solutions, providing approval to ensure alignment with Rest’s support model
  • Set clear expectations, monitor and establish strong relationships with all applications vendors in line with contractual agreements and SLAs
  • Manage continuous improvements across the applications portfolio through the delivery of upgrades and enhanced solutions functionality
  • Define and implement a release management process across the application portfolio
  • Ensure services provided by the team (including vendors) are of outmost quality and in line with agreed OLAs/SLAs
  • Development of an ongoing and forward-looking training program for the applications team and Rest staff to ensure efficient support coverage and use of applications
  • Build capability within the Applications team by providing active management of performance and development
  • Assess business process requirements and workflows to identify possible applications solutions that will improve business efficiency
  • Provide support and problem resolution for application issues across the portfolio
  • Manage the applications portfolio budget
About You:
  • Relevant tertiary or technical qualifications in IT
  • ITIL v3 qualifications
Required experience, understanding or credentials including:
  • Proven experience in an application manager/lead role
  • Demonstrated expertise in applications support customer facing roles
  • Proven knowledge of system design, development, implementation, and user support principles and practices.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Excellent ability to understand business processes and leverage application solutions to simplify
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering end user training.
  • Proven experience and highly developed skills in managing the change and release management processes.
