The Job:

Our Investments Team are looking to bring on board a Responsible Investment Manager, to develop, implement and manage our Responsible Investment strategy in alignment with Rest’s vision to be the leading superannuation fund Australians choose and trust throughout their lives.

Your role will see you leading Responsible Investment projects, initiatives and activities, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to provide practical Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) expertise.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Review, develop and/or enhance Responsible Investment related policies, including ESG considerations
  • Drive the efficient implementation and integration of ESG considerations into Rest’s investment process
  • Lead and conduct high quality research and analysis on ESG topics for internal and external stakeholders including the board
  • Prepare and contribute to ESG related articles, updates or newsletters to communicate Rest’s Responsible Investing position and approach
  • Support the development of measurement and monitoring of ESG related metrics within Rest’s Investment Analytics Project and Investment Risk Project
  • Review, monitor, analyse and report on Rest’s ESG related activities including proxy voting and reporting.
  • Support the development and implementation of Rest’s Responsible Investment related product initiatives.
  • Own and maintain up-to-date Responsible Investment knowledge to keep Rest at the forefront on any relevant ESG related issues including regulatory obligations.
  • Participate in industry conferences and investment manager meetings to enhance Responsible Investment capabilities
  • Ensure that Rest rates highly in relevant Responsible Investing industry rankings.

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:
 
  • Tertiary education including post-graduate qualification in relevant discipline, or equivalent experience within investment management and/or superannuation
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Responsible Investment within the finance industry
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the development, implementation and management of Responsible Investment including integration of ESG
  • Comprehensive understanding of the regulatory environment, best practices, investment processes, and trends in relations to ESG matters
  • Proven ability to conduct robust investment research, analysis and reporting
  • Effective stakeholder management skills
  • Motivated and ability to work independently
  • Planning and project management skills.
