REST’s innovative approach to engaging with young members was recognised by the industry at the Rainmaker Information Service SelectingSuper Awards 2017 held in Melbourne on Thursday 16 November 2017.
REST won the Rainmaker SelectingSuper Innovation Award for Millennial Superannuation which acknowledges superannuation providers that ‘have done something special and caught the attention of the industry.’
“We were delighted to be acknowledged by the Rainmaker research team and industry participants for our long-term investment performance, low fees, insurance design and most particularly - great technology engagement with our members,” said Andrew Howard Chief Operating Officer with REST Industry Super.
“With around half of our nearly two million members under the age of 30 and 60% of our members accessing the internet via their mobile device, REST is constantly developing more and smarter ways to communicate and connect with our members and employers,” he said.
“Our customer-led digital customer experience strategy means we use data and insights to help deliver smarter and more convenient ways for our customers to connect with us and take control of their super.”
Around 70% of REST’s nearly two million members now receive digital annual statements with embedded live chat so members can ask questions about their super and insurance without having to go to another channel.
Last year REST became the first Australian superannuation fund to give members online ‘mobile first’ access to personalised financial advice, including the first to provide Facebook Live Q&A’s with a REST Advice specialist.
REST was also the first Australian superannuation fund to service member enquiries using secure Live Chat on our website and the first to provide an inbuilt consolidation tool as part of annual member statements, making it easier for members to consolidate their super.

Recognising the strength of REST’s customer led digital service, REST was also awarded Best Fund Innovation 2017 at the Chant West 2017 Super Funds Awards in May this year.
